Setting up Netscape Mail to download messages from your Safe-mail account is quick and easy. In just eleven steps, you will have Netscape Mail up and running.

Setting up Netscape Mail for IMAP

1. Click Edit and select 'Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings...'
   
   

2. Click 'Add Account...'
   
   

3. Select 'E-mail account' and click Next
   
   

4. Go to the 'Your Name' text box and type your name. In the 'Email Address' textbox type your Safe-mail e-mail address and click Next.
   
   

5. When the Server Information window opens, select IMAP option located under 'Select the type of incoming server you are using'.
   
   In the 'Incoming Server' textbox, type www.safe-mail.net and click Next.
   
   

   NOTE:

   • The mail server for your account can be found at your Safe-mail preferences, POP3 / IMAP section.
   • Users with domain accounts will need to use: apple.safe-mail.net.
   • Users with Safe-haven accounts will need to use: orange.safe-mail.net.

6. In the 'User Name' textbox, type your Safe-mail account name in email address format (e.g., john@Safe-mail.net) and click Next.
   
   

7. In the Account Name textbox type a descriptive name (or use your address). You will select this name when making changes to your settings. 
   
   Click Next.
   
   

8. When you reach the Congratulations page, click Finish.
   
   

9. When the 'Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings' window reappears, click the new account that you created (e.g., john@safe-mail.net) and select 'Server Settings'.
   
   In the Port textbox, type 993.
   
   Under Server Settings, put a check in the checkbox next to 'Use secure connection (SSL)'
   
   

   NOTE:

   • The mail server for your account can be found at your Safe-mail preferences, POP3 / IMAP section.
   • Users with domain accounts will need to use: apple.safe-mail.net.
   • Users with Safe-haven accounts will need to use: orange.safe-mail.net.

10. In the Menu box, click 'Copies & Folders'.
    
    In the section 'When sending messages, automatically', put a check in the checkbox next to 'Place a copy in'
    
    

11. In the Menu box, click 'Outgoing Server (SMTP)'.
    
    In Server Name textbox, type: www.safe-mail.net.
    
    In the Port textbox, type: 465.
    
    Under 'Use secure connection (SSL)' select Always.
    
    Click OK.
