The ability to send email from a Safe-mail account using programs such as Outlook, Thunderbird, etc is possible only from Premium accounts (Storage Plus). Free accounts can still read email using these programs but cannot send email.
We regret having to make this policy change but we had little choice. To provide this facility imposes a huge drain on system resources and can often affect Safe-mail's usability for premium account users. In order to be fair to our paying customers, who after all pay for the system's uninterrupted service for the free users, we decided to confine POP/IMAP capabilities to them alone.
We're sure this does not satisfy your disappointment over the change but we hope that you will at least understand our reasons.
